Privacy Policy

Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how GeckoMetric.com collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the website, app, account features, subscriptions, communications, analytics, and related services. If you do not agree, do not use GeckoMetric.

Information We Collect

We collect information needed to operate GeckoMetric, including username, email address, subscription status, consent records, preferences, personal watchlists, feedback, support context, app activity, technical data, rate-limit records, security logs, and limited subscription or payment status from Stripe. GeckoMetric does not store full payment card numbers.

We collect information directly from you when you create an account, subscribe, submit feedback, manage your account, change preferences, or contact us. We also collect information automatically through essential cookies, local browser storage, server logs, app activity, and security or performance monitoring.

Support and Usage Data

Operational logs may include login attempts, request metadata, page or feature activity, device type, background job status, performance timing, protected-mode status, rate-limit activity, and error details. When you submit feedback or copy support information, the support context may include your current URL, screen, product area, selected date or filters, model focus, row counts, recent error message, browser user agent, device type, and timestamp.

How We Use Information

We use information to create and manage accounts, authenticate users, provide subscription access, operate app features, store preferences and watchlists, send transactional emails, process support requests, monitor reliability, improve performance, protect security, prevent fraud or abuse, enforce our Terms of Service, comply with legal obligations, and improve GeckoMetric.

How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers that help operate GeckoMetric, including payment processing, email delivery, hosting, database infrastructure, security, backups, logging, and app operations. We may also disclose information to comply with law, respond to legal process, protect rights or safety, investigate abuse, enforce our terms, or protect the service and its users.

If GeckoMetric or its assets are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale, or similar transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Payments and Email

Payments are handled by Stripe. GeckoMetric stores Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, subscription status, plan, and billing period end. We may use your email address for password resets, account notices, subscription notices, security alerts, onboarding messages, support responses, and important service updates. If we later offer optional marketing emails, those messages should include a way to opt out.

Cookies and Local Storage

We use essential cookies and local browser storage to keep you signed in, protect the app, remember preferences, and operate the service. See the Cookie Notice for more detail.

Retention and Deletion

We keep account, subscription, operational, security, feedback, support, and app data for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain security, troubleshoot issues, comply with legal or accounting obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our terms, or support legitimate business needs. Backup copies may persist for a limited time after data is deleted from active systems.

You can delete your account from the Account menu. Deletion removes your local account, access, password reset tokens, login attempt records, and personal app data such as user-owned watchlist entries. Stripe billing records may remain in Stripe as required for payment, tax, legal, accounting, and fraud-prevention purposes.

Your Choices

You can update certain account information in the app, request password resets through the sign-in flow, and delete your account from the Account menu. You may also contact [email protected] to ask about access, correction, or deletion of personal information associated with your account. Include your username or account email when possible. Some requests may be limited by legal, security, fraud-prevention, backup, technical, or operational requirements.

Depending on where you live, privacy laws may give you additional rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, transfer, object to certain uses of personal information, or withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards intended to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These safeguards may include signed sessions, CSRF protection, rate limits, monitoring, access controls, and hashed password storage. No website, database, network, or transmission method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Third Parties, Location, and Age

GeckoMetric may use or link to third-party services such as Stripe, Mailgun, hosting providers, database providers, security tools, and other operational services. Those services have their own privacy practices, terms, and security controls.

GeckoMetric is operated from the United States and is primarily intended for users in the United States. If you access the service from another location, your information may be processed in the United States or other jurisdictions where service providers operate.

GeckoMetric is intended only for users who are at least 21 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we learn that a minor has provided personal information, we may delete it and terminate the account.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of GeckoMetric.com after changes are posted means you acknowledge the updated policy.
